Report from Serge Gouteyron to Glenn Estess Re: Unesco/Rotary International
To follow up with our meetings at Unesco on October 11th with the General Director and the various department heads, my recommendations are the following: 1. Rotary International and
Unesco share two strong interests: literacy and safe water. 2. Media information should be posted on our respective web sites. 3. I believe that since Unesco has a network of national commissions (see list on Unesco's web site), it might be a good idea to ask governors and task force general coordinators (water-literacy) to contact them and see how we can work together on existing projects. 4. It might be also a good
idea to have our two representatives for France, namely Bernard Dervaux
and Cyril Noirtin, organize a half day meeting with Unesco to work on
one of those topics (water or literacy) with Rotarians from our zone
or neighboring zones. I would volunteer to work with them. cc: Carl Wilhelm Stenhammar PS. I am sure that you have noticed how involved Unesco is in Africa. It might be a good idea to appoint an African Rotary representative for these programs. . |
